Apps installed from SD, not updating.

Hmm. If it's a free app can you lay your hands on just the .apk to install it? Then it WON'T be listed in the Market.

So I tried to reinstall using a different app installer that I forgot I had and now it's finally not showing up in the market. Thanks for the help and suggestions though.
