Apps are selling my info, right?

Before I got Android, I never got a single spam call or text besides an attempted premium message. Now I get constant calls from 877-x 800-x or 866-x numbers. I have call blocker, and I don't really get bothered by them much since it gets blocked. But I wonder if I can prevent this in some way. I hate how they have to access my number and stuff to work, is there something that can block them from ever getting my private info?

its probably only 1 or 2 apps giving you this issue(I for one have never had this issue) so look through your apps and make sure that they are all legitimate apps

also, since theres been issues with it giving out info., etc. if you have an antivirus software with a pill as its logo, uninstall it.

My wife and I have both been on the "Do Not Call" list since it was first available. I haven't received a single spam call or text on my cell whereas my wife started getting lots of spam texts several months ago... even before she had her Droid.

So, it may or may not help to get on the "Do Not Call" list, but it definitely won't hurt.

I recommend you add your number to the national "do not call list", this is what I do and it gets rid of all those pesky commercial calls.

Oh thank you!

MNTNBKR, you can always send a transcript of the message if you send it to voicemail, and threaten them with a lawsuit. You can get money each time for this, there is actually a person who does this and makes his living off telemarketers.
