I believe you do need to have it on SD-ext to flash it. That's where I had mine and it updated without incident.

Yes after its done downloading move or copy it to the micro sd card

Try downloading from your house. I did everything from my phone no problems. When you get home try unrooting and then installing.

I searched for this but found nothing. I installed the update earlier, and now, my battery icon in the status bar is stuck at 100% while Circle battery widget reads 88%. Anyone else have or heard of this?

No. This update fixed all the bugs I had. Then again every device is different in some way
