Application storage

In my application storage area it only shows 1.71gb available. I only had the phone for 3 days, when I got the phone it show 1.84gb. Is this right? Why is there so little space. Sometimes I try to download a app it will say not enough room. I only have about 15 app on my phone.

I was wondering the same thing when I had my d3 "that I took back". I never seen anything like that on my d2, I'm pretty sure there is no set amount of space on my d2

Only 2 of the 16 gigs are allotted to apps. The rest of the space is considered the sd card or "media storage". In other words, space to do "apps to sd" as well
as all your other folders. I however am having issues with moving apps to media storage and then after a day, losing them, with the only option being uninstall through settings and re download.

Same here. I got it 7/18/11 and I have already deleted some apps... does anyone know if u get a 16gb sd card with it canu put that to the apps?

I have an external 16 gb card and I can't find a way to app on the eternal card. If u go in to the phone files you will see a sd folder and a sd-ext folder, I was thinking if you rename the sd-ext forder to just the sd folder then u might be able to move your apps to the external card!

I'm not understanding why it's saying you're out of room, I have well over 100 apps installed, all in Application storage, and I still have 1.2 GB left. I have never gotten an error saying there was not enough room. Maybe a factory reset will fix the glitch, if not, ask for a replacement. There is something wrong there.

I tried putting some apps in media storage and noticed some were disappearing after being connected to my laptop in USB mode so I moved them back to application storage. Hopefully that glitch will be fixed in an update.

Considering the Droid1 only had 512 MB of space on the phone with a removable 16 GB card that initially you couldn't put apps on, you should have no problem fitting 15 apps on 4 times as much space.

My wife is having the same issue. She downloaded a couple big games, like plants vs. zombies & angry birds, but she shows that she still has over a GB left. I haven't had any issues and we show about the same amount of free space

It's getting annoying for her (and me, lol)

Anybody have any other thoughts/ideas?

Not enough storage space

This isn't exactly true. If you or your wife deletes "Stupid Zombies" the notification will go away. I had the same thing happen yesterday. The nice thing is that when ever you download an application or do an update that notification will come up soon. If your phone doesn't like it.

Why it does this I have no clue. But before you dump all your pictures and erase your emails start with the last known application you down loaded or updated. It will save you a ton of headaches. I've uninstalled an application before that was updated then reinstalled it and it seemed to work fine. It doesn't work this way every time but try that.

I have about three hundred apps, including PVZ and Peggle, totaling 1.3 gigs and no space issues. Have about 600mb left. I get low volume warnings, but that is due to PSX roms stuffed in my internal storage and media on my sdcard.
