Everyone is suing everybody, apple, samsung, motorola, htc there is so much money to be spent and had. I have a Mac and an iPad and a toshiba and a razr and I like all the products I own as long as there are engineers and developers there are going to be people protecting those intellectual patents as well as they should

That really isn't true. The only common denominator is Apple. The others are countering to protect themselves from Apple. The best defense is a good offense.
The whole Google purchase of Motorola was to protect themselves from Apple and to give them bargaining chips when Apple fires the next salvo.
Apple is running scared because they aren't the only game in town any longer. It's pretty much them against the world.

Well, that's because it's Apple vs. Android. It seems the Android vendors, for the most part, have an unwritten agreement to be civil. Which falls in line with Google's purchase of Motorola (to acquire their patents and protect their Android partners).
If Apple has a legitimate claim, than I can't blame them. After all, people have a right to the patents they file. And I have to imagine they are winning enough of these cases, to continue down this path. Because you would have to assume, if these cases did nothing but fail, they'd stop bringing them.

With the AT&T exclusivity deal they are blew that chance. Had they released the iPhone on all carriers at the same time then they could have pulled it off.

And no, Apple isn't really being targeted, they are the ones doing the targeting.
You never want a monopoly, ever. It stifles advancement and the consumers end up being the big loser.

How's that gonna happen with Android when more people buy motorolas, HTC, and Samsung more than the nexus. Or when Google gives so many different things out for free.
