For the past several years and especially in 2011 and 2012 the tech news media was practically overwhelmed with constant reports of the patent wars raging across the mobile landscape. It became just as frustrating for editors and bloggers to write about as it did for readers to constantly read about. This year saw a lull in these reports as we weren't inundated with stories about the continuing legal hostilities. Unfortunately, most of the appeals trials are just now ramping up and are set to flood 2014 with more patent war coverage all over again.
Luckily, there may be "light at the end of the tunnel" after-all though.
