App Update deletes User data on Froyo?

I'm trying to test an update for my app and want to make sure user data that is stored in the Android recommended "/Android/data/(packagename)/..."

and when I test the upgrade, the data is deleted. It didn't do this with 2.1 anyone know anything about this?
