App to connect to my computer?

I want to connect to my computer through my phone and have access to all the files. Mainly because I have a million videos on my computer and I want to watch them from my phone. Is there an app that will let me have access to those files over wifi?

There's a few videos on you tube that explain his do do that but I've not had much success with that using the usb cable what I do is insert my SD card itself into my comp and transfer music and video files that way and most full length movies need to be in .mp4 format but there video apps on the market that allow you see the .avi files
