Select WAIT... and WAIT

exactly, WAIT and WAIT......do not do this is u r in a hurry, like i said earlier i would do it while doing hmwk, watchin tv, or playing xbox, just something to take your mind off the blanks screen lol. I hope it works for ya arsenal, i need to hit the sack but ima check this thread tomo. Arsenal post how u made out........Im OUT

K so now it's asking me if I'm really really sure I want to break my recovery mode so I hit flash recovery, the flash recovery button lit up orange and has stayed that way but it's showing no progress as of yet, I'll let you guys know what happens

I have a quick question...I have rooted my phone (not using the app), and I have setCpu installed. If I download this app all I will have to do is open it and select the rom I want?

there's instructions in the app, not too complicated, see berzerkers post page 2ish

and awhateveriforget, if I was you I'd just go to sleep and continue in the morning.

I re-flashed it and added the corp calendar back... sweet I'm all set now.

Now the big question...

I know it is now disabled from OTA updates, but how do we go back to getting OTA from verizon when they pull their head out?

Nah I have work in 3 hours and I havent slept so I'm not going to do any more of this ****. Sorry your guys app doesn't work. I've been waiting for this so I wouldnt have to do it the hard way because I'm pretty lazy but it looks like I'll have to.

Don't start assuming or saying things like "if you cant even do it this way then...etc..." because I followed what I was told to do and the app malfunctioned not me. So I will do it the hard way..

Sweet started downloading recovery.img.

Oklay so wait and wait and wait are what you're supposed to do

Sorry Arsenalc08...................no offense meant what-so-ever................but that was freakin' hilarious lol

And after about an hour of me half watching watchmen half installing this I got it to work. Pretty much people if you try this have patients, you do get asked to force close or wait a few times (in my experience) just hit wait like.... I think it was around 7 times.

Cmon if you're gonna root it it may as well be 800MHZ.

Deput, if this is only 600MHZ i'm very very impressed, I don't see a reason for more really, this thing flies now.
It will be. They currently have a 1.2 version of the ROM that it downloads. They will be releasing a 2.0.0 version of their ROM that can OC to 800 MHz or 1000 MHz ... so you will be able to overclock more after that.

I just installed this and it went ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESSY.. It took less than an hour and is working GREAT!! I love the pinch-zoom.. and the phone works much faster. I can't wait for the next update! BTW: I never had to hit (or even saw) any "wait" button anywhere..

When you guys say that your phone is MUCH faster, what are we talking? Any specifics that struck you as being quicker than the stock version?

Ive been on the fence on rooting, and if I can do it for $5 bucks with ap assistance, and it actually works, my prayers have been answered!!

So is it gonna block OTA's?
I believe it does indeed block OTAs.

This is basically a completely new OS built using the source code from Motorola with changes (the kernel is certainly recompiled with many changes).

I don't think they have recompiled the system apps, but they do wipe the /system directory and bring in a new one.

Basically, if you install this you are going to get your updates in the future from sholes.info or you will revert back to standard OS and get OTA updates.

If one is not comfortable with having their Droid rooted, with overclocking, or with someone other than Motorola building the kernel and providing updates then they should probably not install this app.

I am comfortable with it, and recommend it ... I personally will wait to install this until they have the 2.0.0 version of the ROM as I am running their 1.2 ROM now with their 1000 MHz overclocking kernel installed and I don't want to lose the 1000 MHz kernel to the older one from 1.2.

But as soon as they release the new ROM then I am all over this. For anyone who thinks that $5 is too much this app ... seriously ???? For the price of a Big Mac and Fries, you can get Wireless Tethering, Root, SPRecovery and all future updates.

Ok this is my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong on these points. This app will root my droid and yada yada yada, but from what I understand it will also allow ota updates. So does this mean that once 2.1 is released we will eventually be updated to a rooted version of 2.1? I also understand that a future version and/or app is being developed that will allow unroot? And as a final point if these roms come loaded with a clock of 800 or 1000 will we still be able to set the clock spped on our own if we wish?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

I think it blocks OTA updates, but the developers can comment on that.

As far as CPU clock speed is concerned, you can control this by a couple means. One is the SetCPU paid app .. I highly recommend it. If you want to control it for free instead, then you just need to echo a number to location via the terminal emulator to control the speed.

The current version of the ROM (1.2) that this downloads runs at 600 MHz and you do not need to adjust anything ... when they release 2.0.0 version of the ROM it will run at 125/250/550/800/1000. You can set the Max that you want it to run via either SetCPU or the echo command. See this link for how you would do the echo:

AllDroid - View topic - Sholes 800mhz/1ghz

(This script info to set max frequency will only be valid once they release the kernel for the 2.0.0 ROM or if you flash the new overclock kernel from the link as your boot image ... it will not overclock the current kernel in the 1.2 version of the ROM)

well, every app I open does so instantly.. no hint of any hesitation anywhere so far.. I get NO lag or "stutter" when I am scrolling on a web page, and that alone was worth the $5.00... that was driving me crazy!! But now it is quick and totally responsive! I have noticed 1 minor (IMHO) flaw, I noticed that there seems to be I little "hesitation" while I type.. BUT it seems pretty minor because it always "catches-up" whithin a second or two, and does not seem to "miss" any letters if I don't wait for it.. If I find ANY "real" problems,I will be sure to post and tell you people so you will be aware of it (IF there I one...) and to report any fix I find... (again, that is IF I find any "real issue" )
would I recommend this to a friend ?? (Assuming I actually have any.. LOL) YES!!

But I would NOT recommend this to an "enemy".... why give them anything good... LOL
yep.. I am happy with this...
