I am not disappointed.......excellent excellent job

Edit : Car home is back and in the removing files...unmark "car dock" prefect...now

im in the option screen (blue) may i ask where is car home under

Look for an option named "remove car dock" and uncheck it. I'm not sure which menu it's on, since it has been a while since I've installed 1.2. You might want to ask the ROM maintainers (Berzerker and trevorj) about these questions, since it doesn't really have to do with the updater apk.

thanks i had found it. I like the options of what you can add or remove.

not to blow smoke, but if you continue to provide the support that you do then I do not see a problem with the $5 price tag (i have no problem paying more). I can understand why you would say "donations" but that is not too high of a price to pay. You did all the work so that so that we no cussing at the phone/computer and complaining to people about our phones not working, or worse case scenario bricking it.

It's pretty hard to brick your phone. You'd have to break /system and the recovery image while in recovery mode, which requires adb and some malice.

this is my first post here after lurking for a while.

I just wanted to say, wow! What a great app. I've been putting off rooting my droid out of fear, but this was about as straight forward as it gets. I was worried/skeptical after reading some issues on this thread but it was smooth as butter for me. Followed the instructions and start to finish it was done in less than an hour. Well worth the 5 dollars.

looking forward to the 2.0 update for a little more OCing. :)

Okay I have a black home screen for an hour now. I did the press home, that didnt work. Whats wrong

Tap the black screen. If you get an FC dialog, close the app and relaunch it. To reiterate, you must check the remember box on the SU dialog, and you must restart the app after granting SU permission.

yes there is no way a novice could brick a droid. You would have to specifically know what your doing.

And even then it can be recovered by flashing it with PST or whatever the modern equivalent is.

Well, I'm up and running. Smooth as butter. The 600Mhz clock speed is OK, but I still get some lag here and there (using home++). I love the new gallery and multi-touch in the stock browser.

Can't wait for 800Mhz.

AFAIK, only Motorola employees have access to the bootloader flashing software. It's definitely possible to do, but it can't be done at home right now.

Ok, so to confirm:

This rom will not allow setcpu to OC to 800 or 1000MHZ right?

Also, I must backup all apps/data before upgrade as well?

I actually uninstalled home++ and just used the launch, but 5 screens are enough for me.

Nope will only oc to 600, and i didnt back up my apps, i just made sure i clicked save on the option menu when it asked save or wipe. all my apps were intact.

The Sholes.info 1.2 ROM only goes up to 600MHz. The next release (2.0) will have 125, 250, 550, 800, 1000.

You do not need to backup; nandroid will automatically create a /system and /data backup for you.

Camel,
This is fantastic, KUDOS to you and your team! It is great that you guys make something like this for the "mere mortals"!

I have a couple of quick simple questions that those who have already installed this can probably answer.

Does this ROM have the stock 2.1 Home sceeens(5) and the 2.1 "dot" screen navigation?

Which App Drawer does it have the normal 2.0 or 2.1 3D version?

Thanks in advance!

This ROM lets you choose between the 2.1 Home and the 2.0 home screen w/ 5 panes and auto rotate. It lets you choose if you want the 2.1 App Drawer. I went ahead and paid the 5 bucks for this app, and it was well worth it just for the rooting and back up alone. Now to choose between sholes and bugless roms....
