One of the cool features of some roms is the ability to modify the color and pulse rate of the notification LED. Well with Light Flow you don't have to be on Cyanogen you can change your notification light from any Rom or even from Stock. This App does require Root. The only setback is that it does require text messaging permissions so that it can see when a text is coming in and send the appropriate colored light. They say that they dont have access to the physical text and I believe them. This App has been around for several months now and no one has complained of any privacy issues. This Mod really stands out because it adds instant functionality. You can clearly see what type of notification you have whether it be gmail, mms, sms, gtalk, ect.

Awesome review man! Been using it since the 17th. . Only thing I don't like about it is you have to go into each notification setting to change whether you want light to go away by just unlocking the phone(I'm using this), or by entering the app(this is default and was annoying lol).

And if you flash roms a lot, be sure to back it up with TB. Pretty annoying find all your settings again.

This is a much needed app. I have always been wanting one that would cycle through the LEDS on multiple notifications. I have the app (Lite version) downloaded and isntalled on my Moto Bionic. So far it looks like it did not require root for me to work. Will update once I get some notifications that come in.

EDIT: Notification cycle through with no problem. Will be paying for the full version of the App. I never understood why google did not implement this from the beginning?

This is hands down the most helpful app I've downloaded. All phones need to come with multicolor LEDs and this is definitely a must have app. :hail:

Yep! It certainly is great, but sometimes the wonderful settings _do_ get in the way a bit. I just want to be able to set Gmail color blink rate... . I don't even remember all the other settings it has because it's been a while since I set it up, but I do remember it was a bit clunky!
Don't get me wrong though, it's a fantastic app! :biggrin:

My son inherited my D1 but complained about the notification light blinking at night. I saw some good reviews of Light Flow and gave it a try.

Every once in a while you stumble on to a free app, smack yourself in the forehead and say, "I CAN'T believe this is free!" It's a very versatile,well-designed app. rubiksc00p is right -- the menus are a bit intense -- but we found exactly what we needed.

Does the app have additional settings that allow the LED notification to blink even when the screen is on?

It's helpful when your browsing in full screen mode and your phone is in silent mode (i.e. surfing during a meeting.) =)

Not sure about the required root. I've been using the free version of Light Flow successfully on my unrooted, stock GN since I got it in release day. Gmail, missed calls amd text messages all give me different color blinks. Love this app.

YES!!!! one thing I missed from my BB was the bebuzz app allowing me FULL control of the LED, I always wondered why android didn't allow full control from the get go. but hell, if someone has finally fixed it then all's well. definitely going to test this and if it works how I hope get the full version

I have been running this app for quite a while, and have one major complaint. I cannot find the setting to make the LED on my Bionic as big as the one on my Droid Seriously, it works very well, and I have had a handful of updates to it over the last several months, so the developer does stay on top of it.
