App does not close when I swipe up?

I just switched from iPhone to Android
I have tried installing/uninstalling several music apps
The music apps do not close when I swipe up - this closes all other apps
Music keeps playing until I press app info and select force app to stop (or something like it)
I want the app to really close and the music to stop when I swipe up
This must be possible?
I currently use the AIMP music app

Welcome to the Forum. And welcome to your new Android phone. I am not familiar with any music apps that behave in that way. There probably are some, just none I am familiar with. Hopefully someone else has some suggestions or ideas.

AIMP is an excelent music player. I've been using the app without any issue with my Galaxy S20. Which phone are you using? Perhaps you might submit a bug report to the developer. In the meantime, try another music player like Pi Music Player, which is a lot similar to AIMP.
