Anyone figure out why texts get erased?

title basically says it all. happened to me again today.. just wondering if anyone figured out why

I heard that happening with users who use the handcent app, but not the stock one.

Apps like MyBackupPro will automatically backup your texts to a web server... I have mine setup to back up every night at 3AM, so if I do lose texts, I only lose a days worth.

I've been using handcent since early NOV when I got my droid. I have never lost a text message.
(I don't count the one I long pressed, said delete it, yea sure, and it was the wrong one).
Wonder if some other app. is conflicting with it causing that.
