Went alligator gar fishing today and broke a somewhat vintage reel. Its a penn peerless no.9. The drag/drive gear cracked. Think bass pro might can find the part i need and be able to repair it or should i try to find the part myself?

Bass pro shops have a tendency to only want to deal with modern stuff, but you might get lucky and find an old timer that will go the extra mile.
Good luck, I had an local fishing shop that carried vintage stuff and would hand wind flies etc. But their gone now. My drinking buddy is a professional fisherman he might know what happened the them. I'll ask.
