Answering text messages

Ok by now you can tell that I just got my Moto Droid, the issue I'm having is when I get a new text message the only way I can stop the ringtone is hit the notification bar which is sometimes hard to do. Is there another way to answer them.

What kind of ringtone are you using for it? Mine says Droid once and that's it.

I created my own with ringdroid. trust me it's a must have.

It will play the complete notification, So if it's long, shorten it up.

Well if the ringtone has a long play time, like part of a song, then that's why. It's playing the whole notification.
