another question about notifications

Sorry for asking all the newb questions. How do i get rid of all the orange notifications on each app on my home screen? I've tried turning off notifications, but it doesn't seem to help. Main issues right now are my facebook and the corporate email.

Which apps are you using for email and Facebook? I ended up deleting the Yahoo account I did have on the native email app in favor of the Yahoo app. That stopped notifications there. I use Maildroid for my corporate email and it works fine. I never set up the Facebook account on the native app in favor of Friendcaster. That also stopped the notifications.

On my phone, the Facebook notifications are blue and the email ones are orange.

For the email app, try first selecting settings, then selecting the account, and then turn off email notifications.

Yeah. Facebook and the native email app both show in orange. I guess here's part of my confusion. I want the notification to show at the top of the phone in the notification bar. What I don't want is the orange numbers on the app icon itself.

That happened with me until I deleted the account attached to it.
