Another Newbie question...

In regards to battery life...

Yes, I have read everything about rooting, and and everything else that is far more complicated that I am prepared for/care to deal with. (Use a task killer, but make sure that these 43 tasks are not killed or else your phone will explode)

I get turning off data, I get turning off wi-fi, dimming the screen, using a black wallpaper, things like that.

And for my general use, I am near my home, work, and car, all which have docking stations of one type or another, and now that I know that with the current batteries, you don't have to do the whole "only charge when it is drained" thing, I don't have many worries about being able to keep a charge under normal circumstances...even while leaving data and 3G on all the time.

But my question is, what about ABnormal circumstances?
I go camping and hiking, I travel some and spend the day away from the hotel or a car...things like that.

Is there some sort of simple app or something like that where I can maximize my battery life in a more straightforward almost single button "Power Saver Mode"

Basically Maximising your battery for dummies...

A few people on here experimented with their phone "just because they could." But the majority, I would think, have been exactly where you are. I know I tried every setting imaginable and I couldn't get a day out of my phone. One app I would recommend is Free Power Widget. I don't think you have to be rooted to use it. You can configure up to six buttons on your home screen to make turning Wifi, Screen Brightness, GPS, etc. much easier than going through the menus.

If you do come up with something to make the original battery last, patent it before you post it- you'll be rich!!
