I'm a little out of order here, this will make my second post to the forums (I was googling something and ran into a thread that had some rather unflattering things to say about phone salesmen and I had to interject) but better late than never I suppose.
I recently purchased a Droid X and have been busy personalizing it. This is my first smartphone and I'm having a ball. I selected an android because Apple fans have soured me on the company and I think that open platform technology is the wave of the future (sorry Microsoft). I had narrowed my choice down to the Droid X and the HTC EVO and carrier pretty much settled the matter since we have Verizon for everything else and I had a bad experience with Sprint years ago. I'm an incorrigible technophile but not particularly computer savvy.
