Angry Birds Star Wars Finally Hits Google Play Store

After a month of teasing, Rovio finally launches the newest version of their hit Angry Birds series. Angry Birds Star Wars is now available in the Google Play Store. Even if you are a little burned out on the franchise, this new one looks pretty intriguing with new features and of course the full-on Star Wars flavor. Here's a quote with the full details,

I have lost all productivity today because of this game. Super sweet, any Star Wars fan will enjoy this, as well non fans, its a nice refresh and combination of the other games. I enjoy it!

Oh...wait...I actually downloaded it at 3:04AM EST! (I was actually up anyway, doing a forum software conversion.)

Kudos to the Google Play store for not bogging down during the rush. Initial impression: nice gameplay. Familiar birds have new twists, so it's not just a stale rehash of the earlier Angry Birds titles. I did notice there are more fees to unlock new aspects of the game, such as the Jedi training (to play the one stage of the game, I presume?). Still 99 cents to remove ads...I'll spend for that. Really liking the Star Wars story tie-ins as well (much like the Lego Star Wars games).

I agree, a nice refresh instead of a rehash lol and I don't mind paying to unlock stuff, these developers, no matter how big/small work hard on this stuff. and its great stuff too.
