Here's another "outside the box" poll to get your brain-box gears turning. Last week we wanted to see which Android smartphones of next year (2015) you thought would be the best. Today's poll asks the opposite question and in reverse too.

Which Android mobile devices, software or topics of 2014 were the biggest flops of the year? We have included several choices, but we know we can't cover the whole gamut of possibilities, so we will cap the options off with the ubiquitous "Other." If you choose "other" as your flop of choice, be sure to sound off in the thread and let us know which mobile tech related topic was the most disappointing to you.

Also, even if you do vote for one of the pre-chosen possibilities, feel free to chime in and let us know why it was the biggest flop of the year. Here's the poll:

That pic is the Amazon Fire (*smoldering), jumping into the pool. It was doused immediately upon landing.

Whats wrong with your 2013 Nexus 7? Mine runs great on Lollipop. Also, I <3 the Nexus 6 size. The limited availability of the phone...ya....rawr.

I think
  • No big improvements in battery life technology for mobile device
is the biggest let down, definitely not the biggest flop.

that fire phone... whew.

Amazon had this one phone where they tried to do some 3d trickery..... What was it called, who cares it sucked. The 3D gimmick was so 2011 (or whenever HTC tried the 3D stuff).

The nexus 6 is far from a flop, the limited stock was planned so people would buy through their carriers. 6 inch screen that is a tad taller than the note 4 and iPhone 6+. And development for it is gaining speed. Personally this is the best nexus device ever put out for purchase.

I wanna know.. How'd you get that pic of me swimming?? Baaahahahahahaha

Didn't the Oneplus have an anti women campaign? What about the first LG Android wear ?

My 2013 Nexus 7 runs better after deleting all unused apps. One of the deleted apps was causing a slow down.

I personally thought there were great improvements in battery life. Many of this year's flagship phones now get a full day with heavy usage, where this wasn't possible just one year ago. Sure, it can always be better but, for the most part it has gotten better. (Except for those 4K phones)

S5 tap'n

Poor Fire phone....the only reason I feel so bad is because a good friend of mine actually worked on that phone. I try to tell him every day it wasn't his fault :(

Unless he helped engineered and design it. I'm sure so big level exec thought it would be cool and was like "make it happen". Heck I wouldn't even take it over a blu phone.
