android reads things aloud

android reads things aloud & don't want it too

All of a sudden the Nexus in the default web browser reads what I touch out loud (and when it gets to a new web page it reads its name out loud). Also in the CVS app when I type in a field, it reads it out loud.

Rebooted the phone, still happens. Do have app Volume+ (only set to effect speaker) on stock Nexus. Checked settings under accessibility and talkback is off. Any suggestions?

Did you check to allow web scripts under accessibility?

Yes, I do have " install web scripts" allowed. Could that causing the problem?

Changed it to not allowed and it solved the problem. Never would have found it. Thanks so much. What is that setting about anyway that does that?

I don't have a clue. I checked it hoping it would solve my problem of not being able to set a background pic on google's page from the phone and it started talking.
That's when I figured out that was the cause of your problem.

The sad part is, that's probably true.
