Users on T-Mobile who have the Moto X will be pleased to learn that the Android 4.4 KitKat firmware has been leaked for the device. According to the reports, the version is fully functional although it is missing a few elements. We will provide a source link below for you to check it out, but as always we recommend caution with newly leaked firmware. Be careful to backup your device and follow any instructions carefully if you want to try it out.

It is probably not too surprising that KitKat is close to availability for the Moto X... after-all, Motorola is a subsidiary of Google now. It shouldn't be too long before we start to see fully fleshed out ROMs for the T-Mobile Moto X using Android 4.4. We'll keep you posted when we find out anything new.

Great to see. Saw this a bit ago on Droid-Life. Hopefully the status bar icons won't actually be blue as this early build indicates. Not a big deal to me either way considering there is still an abundance of blue coloring within the UI of 4.4. I'll be happy to patiently wait for the OTA. Bought this phone with the intention of not tinkering with ROMs/rooting as I did with my Galaxy Nexus (which was essentially necessary to stay up to date with other Nexus devices). Don't see the point in tinkering with devices other than the Nexus devices.

It feels like Google is making it easier for carriers/manufactures to update the OS. I read a week or so ago that 4.4 will be on the newest Galaxy devices in November...thats this month. If that turns out to be true (probably not) that would be amazing.

I'm sure Verizon will be on the trailing edge when updates begin rolling out to different versions of the Moto X. But it's encouraging to hear the X mentioned as an early Kit Kat adopter!
