Android 2.2 USB Debugging

I recently updated my droid x to use Android 2.2. In order to use my laptop web tether I had to use USB debugging, and it worked fine on Android 2.1. Now with 2.2 my laptop won't even recognize my phone when debugging is on.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there something wrong with 2.2? Could I just redownload 2.1 if there is something wrong with it?
