Can we have a new thread... "When are we getting 2.2 Froyo on Moto Droid?"

For the people that can't search or can't scroll up a few posts... Sheeze every other post asks the same question:icon_evil:

And what about people like you who don't search? LOL

There already is a thread in the general discussion area started by wuyanks.

I don't need to search I read/view almost every post/thread in the individual forums that interest me each time I sign on. I saw the poll but polls don't interest me so I never opened the thread.:icon_ nana:

Preliminary reports suggest that the beta isn't hardware accelerated and hence the perceived sluggishness in these demo videos. The N1 does have hardware accelerated graphics btw, but I don't know whether there's a dedicated chip or not.

We established long ago that the N1's graphic chip is not a dedicated chip - it's onboard the main processor.

So it takes away from the power of the N1, while the Droids adds power.

No doubt, but we'll just have to wait for a hardware accelerated version of flash to come out before we can reach a verdict on whether it sucks or not. I'm assuming performance on the N1 and the Droid would be somewhat similar considering the differences in CPU clockspeed and architecture.

FYI,
saw this over on xda. they were talking about root for incredible and then he throws that little tidbit at the end...his username is chumba8. hope this is not bs.

"OK guys i am going to spill the beans here first me and a VERY small group of devs are close to root I have a kernal guy who already has a 1500mhz kernal for the incredible too even one guy I just had to get him a Inc. he already rooted one once but wanted to actually own a phone before launching it so i say by friday we should be goood to go OH YEAH I also might have a 2.2 froyo for THE DROID tomorrow hopefully"

Yes. The android SDK includes an emulator call AVD or Android Virtual Device. It is limited in some respects because it can't receive calls or be moved around for GPS testing, but for simple games and web-apps it's perfect for users who don't want to invest in a development phone.
