Its not available for use on the droid yet. By porting he means changing stuff around on the nexus build so that it will work on the droid. Since the update.zip is already out in the wild I'd give it a week or so before we start to see custom builds that work on the droid, if someone is really ambitious we might have a stock version within a few days :D

The Droid has two processors unlike the other smartphones... I wonder how they will handle that.

I was wondering the same thing. Doesn't flash for the Droid have to be kind of a custom version since it has a CPU+GPU which I have heard the Nexus does not have(correct me if I'm wrong)

The GPU should handle it on it's own, I don't think anything has to be "designed" for it just like games don't have to be designed for individual Graphics Cards on PC's.

So the games and other stuff configure themselves to the Droid's hardware?

I don't think anything has to be configured, it just simply takes over that aspect of the processing. It's just crunching graphics while the omap handles the other stuff. What is completing this task shouldn't matter to the content being rendered, only a difference in performance to the user.

its part of the omap architecture from what I understand it passes the info to it automatically. I'm no expert though I'm pretty sure its all part of the SoC (System on Chip) arch

Anyone know when froyo is coming to droid?

Sent from my Milestone

Soon. Had to say it. Really, given the last release I think one can safely assume it will be months before we see Froyo on the Motodroid. Then will we finally see more than three home screens? It is apparently left up to the phone manufacturer to decide that and other tweaks though...
