Amount of RAM on Thunderbolt

Based on the specs I was under the impression that the Thunderbolt had 768mb of RAM. However, I've run two different phone stats type programs and both say that my TBolt only has 597mb of RAM. Does anyone else get the same result?

Some RAM is dedicated only for the user interface.That's why it's so smooth. the rest (597) is free for the user =)
