amazon has a convenience store where there are no cashiers. you walk in, pick up your item, then walk out... interesting concept. do you think it has a future?

What it's like inside Amazon's futuristic, automated store

where I work, the break room no longer has vending machines. It has shelves like a store, you pick up what you want, take it to a scanner, and pay for it using plastic or through an account you have setup. there are lots of cameras watching and recording... not like amazon go but similar.

I can see this catching on quickly and sprouting up all over the place. Just like Amazon Locker...I used it last week on a work trip to VA and it was pretty cool.

thinking about it, it relies on the person with the app, what if they bring their family with them? especially kids who like to touch and move merchandise. would they have to wait outside of the scanners? it will be interesting to see how that would work out.

wish there were amazon lockers in my area. too many porch thieves around
