Amazon Echo Invites

I just requested one. The confirmation page says "If you are selected, you will receive an e-mail within the next few weeks".

Signed up for an invite. For $100, since I'm a Prime member, can't be too bad to have around.

28 of them for sale on eBay. One is bid up to $455. For $100 it's a fun toy, but I don't think it's worth more than that to me. But maybe after I've had it for a week I'll become more dependent on it.

Has anyone noticed there's no review button to review it on Amazon? I wonder why? Amazon is all about reviews.

Maybe they want people to use it for a while before giving their opinions. I think the fire phone left a bad taste in their mouth.

I wonder about that too, Ollie. The Fire Phone really got hammered. Did you notice the unlocked 32GB is selling for $199?

I saw that. We were discussing it in another thread. It can be rooted, but that's about it. I would've purchased one of it could be rommed for use as a media player in my car.

Oddly enough AT&T is still selling theirs for $449 on the same site.

The biggest problem with that phone for me is that you cannot put the Google Play Store on it without geeking out using terminal commands.

Amazon's App Store is OK. They have a lot of apps. Most of them are older versions of the same app on Google Play that may or may not ever be updated.
