Am I crazy to think this?

Over the past few days, I have been rambling to myself of how much i missed my D1 and how customizable it is as well as being so far ahead of the game having much more customization with roms.

Right now I have a Droid X running Liberty 1.5. Every day now I think of going back to my D1 because I missed it so much. Dont get me wrong the DX is a great phone but it being locked down still... Just makes me hate it more and more each day...

What do you all think of this? Have you have thought of doing this as well?

Ya I'm getting pretty sick of being locked out. I love liberty but can only imagine what they would be able to do had we the freedom of the d1. I don't think I'll be buying another MOTO device after this.

i think you're dead on! (or maybe we're both crazy...) i ain't givin up my D1 for nuthin!! ...at least not until the D3 (possibly pure Google) comes out, hopefully with an unlocked bootloader.

I came from the D1 about a month ago and I'm still in love with the speed increase. I hope that love lasts at least until my summer upgrade!

I'm on my third rom today!! And I put 4 on yesterday!! Droid 1 rules!! And yet, I absolutely love the Droid X. I often drop by either Best Buy or one of the local Verizon stores and just play with an X!! But I will not give up my Droid 1. I'm just a Rom/Theme junkie. dancedroid

Edit: Just realized I did not answer your question. Yes you are crazy. But not for wanting to go back to the D1, rather for leaving it in the first place!!

Same here! I would probably go back to my D1 if my dad wasn't using it, he likes it so much I don't want to take if from him. But I do love this keyboard...

My D1 will likely be my last Moto device too but, its gonna take A LOT for me to upgrade, just don't see a reason to at this point!

Ha wow, im surprised on how much people still support the D1... To me I think I made a mistake of getting a DX... I just rushed and didnt wait >< since the D1 was such a big step for the Android OS it's still the grandfather of its popularity...

If I was able to get it back from my dad (who hasnt activated it yet) What rom should I get? I did run Cyanogen my whole run though it but a lot of time has passed and times sure have changed.

I have tried every droid on Verizon, started with OG, then X, to fascinate and now finally the Incredible.

If you like the hacking and speed, the incredible is the perfect compromise. DroidX speed with OG droid hackability.

I love it, currently running CM7 nightlies, and the incredible FLIES. literally no lag ever. i miss the size of DX and the keyboard of the droid, but this is a great compromise for now....

If the merge ever comes out i may have to go with that, another perfect compromise including keyboard??/ sweeeeet

D1 FTW fo sho. Im in IT and i get to play with D1, D2, incredible and DX. I will not voluntarily leave my D1 for anything out.

seriously, I would love an updated version of this phone specs wise but I love the droid for its dev community and pure experience

I had a D1 but I didn't like it. The keyboard sucked and the screen was way too small. I love my DX and wouldn't trade it.
