Hey, I agree, that is in mind, I want to clarify some things here,
1. Im a huge supporter of DF, I talk to Dave and so has the rest of the team, he supports us, we are just trying to show respect to DF by asking for their benediction.
2. I understand there is some confusion, Merely-Droid and Android-Hackers are sister sites, we are working together to make another Android resource useful and respectful to DroidForums(Thanks Dave).
3. The biggest deal to us is the fact that somebody slapped a plethora of users and devs in the face, I'm not going to tell people it was okay, a matter of fact, its really messed up, but that's all I am saying.
4. Why bother the continuation of flaming? Site cohesion? Good, I'm glad some people that have no idea of whats going on just continue to flame or send harassing emails. In all honestly, I'm just a guy who serves in the military (USMC) and want to play a role in the Android community. Every one of you are welcome to come by and say hi, and if somebody over there has an issue or question and we cant answer it, hey I'll direct you over to Speedymon's site or straight to here, because I'll do my hardest (or our team of great people will) to help. I thank all of you for reading this and all I can do is promise, aside from what happened at Alldroid, I promise this will never happen again, for now we have a great community to commit to, so please give us a chance to prove ourselves before you go and act smug.

Now that MVP has changed his statement, i will correct the beginning of mine, since i didnt quite understand i guess. No its not a fraud, If you dont believe us, feel free to ask MIAMI1683, this is by no means a fraud and I am sorry that you might think that.
I'm not saying its a scam, its just that I would be livid if my donation went to someones pocket; somewhere other than the aforementioned uses. Since there is money to be made in merchandise, supporting membership, and advertisements; there would be a bit of a problem if donations went towards profiteering.
Its not a matter of good will, its a matter of where money goes, to whom and for what.
I would like to see the domain be forgotten and die so whoever took it down doesn't see a cent. If you're starting fresh, then start fresh.

Here's the thing. If someone wants to try to save ad then let them. You don't have to donate. Just let it go for now. The only way to see where its going is to watch. B16 has approached me and we support thier effort and welcome the changes. It could be good for the community as long as they are open a resourceful.

I see android forums is having a problem also. Can't get on the site either.
I hope you guys get it back up. It is not cool to have something you enjoy doing ripped from under you. If the mods/admins have no prob with it being here then there can be no argument from anyone. With that said; I think that any time money is involved it seems to suck some fun out of it. I know money make the world go round and it cost to start a site.
ait is prob going to be awhile before people get over this and not think it is a scam. Yeah people can choose whether to donate or not. But if people see a site like all droid closed and then have one of the admins post a blog about lawyers and stuff, it sounds like drama and scam.
I do not know the people at alldroid so it may be legit. 5,000 is a lot of dough and no one can image that much money to manage a site. Hopefully you have a contingency plan if you can not raise that much money.
I suggest start slow and rebuild starting at the foundation. You build the site because of the love of the device and wanted to share info with people with the same mindset. As frustrating as it is to see so much gone it could be used as a reason to start a new and add things that you would not have tried before. Whether you get the money or not you should be able to establish something to keep it going.
My confusion was the sister sites; it seemed as if you guys split and are not on the same page. You may not be alldroid, but you could be extremedroid. .....
I hope you guys get back on your feet because you were a good source of info for the android community.

Nice to know my "donated" $20.00 went to a cough...cough good cause.
It's a domain name.... move forward... if all of you are in it for the community... then come here or another forum that already exist and start posting your work and move forward.
Asking for donations is a little crazy when there are already several forums that would love to have the members and are already paid for and running.
Just my .02 for what it's worth.
