Alarm Ringtone stopped working

Help! I used the alarm for a couple of days this week and had it set to the default ringtone. All of a sudden it stopped working. The alarm would flash on the screen but no sound. I checked all my settings and they were ok. I changed to a different tone and it is now working again. What is that all about? Do ringtones just stop working?

Irk but i've had the same problem with my text sound just quitti.g.out of nowhere but i have yet to get it to work, and its been a couple of days. everything else is fine. Very weird
