Alarm Clock not working

My alarm clock is not working at all. All it does is light up my screen but no alarm sound and doesn't even show the alarm clock when it does go off - just illuminates the lock screen. I tried doing manual alarms each day instead of a Monday -Friday but nothing seems to work. I desperately need my alarm clock! Any fixes for this or even a reliable alarm clock app suggestion?

have you checked system settings> notification volume. Try Better Alarm in the market.

Notification volume is definitely turned up. It's not even a volume issue though - the alarm clock doesn't even go off...just lights up my screen, but no alarm clock shows up - just lock screen. Very strange. I guess I'll have to try some apps, but if anyone has any fixes for this I'd greatly appreciate it. Alarm clock is very essential.
