Adware?

I'm experiencing some random ad-ware issues. I had this issue about two weeks ago and formatted my RAZR to "fix" it. How the problem is still there, i have had this on other droid phones but have NEVER been able to find the source. Ok so here's whats going on. In my notification bar (where phone signal, etc. is) a green plus symbol will appear. When i bring down my notification menu it's suggesting to download an app. everytime i get this notification its always the same app, has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

Some are suggesting "air push" app (in market) to locate the source of spam and remove it. See link below.

Just realized I stated "in market" and not "play store". I'm so old. I gonna leave it as is... cuz I can.

That should fix it - and I'd be curious to hear what ended up being the culprit.

Looks like you installed push ads enabled apps in your phone. Install "Airpush detector" or "add ons detector". They can identify which app has those plug-ins. After that you can uninstall that app or block ads using "Adaway" (not recommend)

The same thing happened to my wifes phone earlier this year. I tried a few adware scan apps and none found the cause. In her case, it was a game linked to her Facebook app. I had to remove Facebook, then reinstall and not tie that game to her Facebook login and the notifications stopped.
