added new droid to colection

ok i added a lg vortex to my droid collection for my youngest son is there any tweaks out there yet for this and any way to root it i would like to set it up before i send it to him for Christmas any help would be great i know its a low end droid but hes 11

That's a good question. I just got one for my wife last week. I've got a Droid original and it's interested to compare the two phones. I'd be curious to know as well.

ok guys, im a newb on these smartphones lol, but im wanting to root my vortex the only thing i really wanna do is use my vortex as a moblile hotspot without paying the 20.00 a month extra on top of my plan and the 30 for the data... IS this possible and whats the benifits of rooting my phone??? thanks so much guys for your help....
