The page says "Online Only", so I'm not sure if the same deal is in stores. I'm due for my new-every-2 upgrade, but as I went through the steps, it didn't give me the option to keep my $30 unlimited Data...it only had the $30 2GB plan. I think I might try going into the brick and mortar location to see if I can get the deal and keep my unlimited plan.

If you buy it at Costco you are nto buying directly from Verizon but a reseller. They may not be getting the grand fathered unlimited data plans.

Well it's the same at Verizon. When you buy it, customers will see the 2gb plan regardless if they're tiered in or not. But when you get it, you're still grandfathered into your old plan. So I'd assume if you're keeping your same plan, you'll keep your unlimited. But, that might just be me. I could be wrong.

I know you've already been over it before, but were all grandfathered in for data and nothing happens when we sign a new 2 year contract right? And you still get any discounts allotted to you. Also, any issues if doing so online?

The whole new data plan / grandfather stuff has me confused, although I confess I haven't been following it as close as I should be.

Yep. If you had unlimited data and stuff before the 7th, your unlimited data will still be there regardless if you buy a 3g or 4g phone, and all your bills should(will) stay the same too.

I just got back from Costco, and the guy said that he thinks they'll have them in store on probably Wednesday the 20th or Thursday the 21st. (This is in San Diego by the way). So I'll probably head back there on Wednesday and see if I can figure it out the upgrade deal in person.

Not sure about that: When I ordered from Verizon Online I had the option to keep my unlimited for $30 (or $24 after corporate discount) or switch to 2GB for $30 (among other options) - so I would be worried if I order somewhere where the unlimited does not show explicitly....

You have be VERY careful about grandfathered plans and get everything in writing so-to-speak. I don't believe CSR's as far as I can throw them. I ordered my D3 with my upgrade on Verizon's website and it said Unlimited Data $29 plus I get 20% corp discount even though I left the company 3 months ago..lol As long as you keep a smartphone on the line you'll always keep the $29 Unlimited Plan whether it's 3G or LTE.

I had spoken with 2 reps at different times at Costco this past weekend and was told that if I am currently an unlimited user, I would still be one when I upgraded even through them......
