Not ICS, but latest thing I could find on Cheesecake for the Bionic. Was hoping to find ICS, since they found it for the D4 - but alas, this popped up.

Stock recovery, no need to rename to update.zip since Bionic's stock recovery allows one to choose the .zip file

Not sure what has changed, no changelog was posted.

Works on my Bionic, FXZ back to .902 also works.

As usual, YMMV, this is non-official and you may have to FXZ to get back on the update path. Motofail does work to root it.

Thanks for this, just got eclipse 2.2 beta 7 (for the 904 update) set up the way I like yesterday, so I probably wont be flashing it for now. Good to see something happening for this phone lol we desperately need an ICS leak tho.

Judging from the screenshot, it appears a slight change to the CDMA radio. Maybe that's since 904 was reported to have lousy battery life, but I'm speculating. That is the only difference I can see from the screen.

Here's a stock .904 screenshot for comparison. Seriously, the CDMA radio is the only difference between .904 and .905.

You need to be on stock 902 for 905 to install.

Makes sense. The filename of the leak is a clue, as it denotes the build that it is designed to upgrade from. It uses a differential patch method for install, so it basically NEEDS .902 in order to apply itself.

Sort of like a PC game patch, where it does a binary check on the file before patching it to ensure that it is patching the correct version.

As for FXZing back to .902; I had success with an already existing FXZ file found here:

Droidhive Rombot :: Droid Bionic [Targa]

Click on the "MOTO" tab, and you will find 2 versions of RSDLite and the .902 FXZ file - this is what worked for me, and SHOULD work for anyone else (no CDT errors, etc.)

But as usual, the normal disclaimer: YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY. Just wanted to pass along the exact file I used (and I used RSDLite 5.7, not the older 5.6)

As for .905 itself, haven't noticed much change from .902 - can't speak for battery life because I used alot of 4G bandwidth today reinstalling some games.

Might keep poking around the Cheesecake servers for ICS, but it is my understanding that these builds can be quite transient. Apparently, the D4 build that leaked is no longer on the Cheesecake server that it was initially found on.

has anyone tried any roms on this yet?

All 902 roms work just tested eclipse rom an eclipse uses pretty much the same coding for the radio as all the roms out there
