4g tether occasionally stopping

When I'm tethering my laptop my 4g will occasionally drop out. The 4g symbol is still there but it doesn't communicate for a bit(20sec up to a minute or two) and this is very disruptive to my games... Anyone know if there is a fix?


edit: I recently started FTPing from a server, and I noticed that I continually get "connection timed out" and it has to restart the file from where it was. been having trouble downloading anything over 100mB as well on my connection.

How are you tethering? USB, WiFI, or Bluetooth?

Are you using stock hotspot app or a third party one? Like foxfi or wireless tether.

I use the wireless tether app.

I am also having this problem-using stock tether app-large files starting and stopping-2 weeks ago no problem

Tried Foxfi this morning-same issue-downloads worked for 5 minutes then froze-using Foxfi in hotspot mode
