4G and headphone jack buzzing!

I was just streaming netflix in the car, data was getting spotty so I went to turn 4G off. During the silence I could here the "buzzing", as soon as 4G switched to 3G it quite .. hmmm
So back to 4G and the buzzing comes back.

Just figured I would post my findings. Not really bothering me as long as sound is present but during quietness kinda irritating.

The "buzzing" you are hearing is RF Interference and is actually present even in 3G, but at a significantly lower level. The only way to eliminate that noise at present is to install an inline Ground Loop Isolator. These can be obtained at your local Radio Shack, but the ones there although are the best at removing that noise, are also set up with either both male or male and female Phono plugs, so you need to also purchase adapters to go from 3.5MM male and female to Phono Stereo male/female (as required) on their respective ends.

These also come in different qualities and in different designs - some far more expensive ones calling themselves Audio Isolation Transformers. I haven't experienced the Isolation Transformer devices so I can't speak to whether they are more or less effective or not effective at all, however I have had great success with the barrel shaped one from Radio Shack.

As an alternate, you can purchase them with the proper 3.5mm plug and socket already installed. They can be had on a number of websites, but these are the ones I know of;

Ground Loop Isolator - RadioShack.com
Amazon.com: GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR FOR 3.5 MM APPLICATIONS: Car Electronics
Amazon.com: Kensington Noise Reducing Car Audio AUX Cable for MP3 or SmartPhone, including iPhone 4S: MP3 Players & Accessories
Amazon.com: PAC SNI-1/3.5 3.5mm Ground Loop Isolator: Everything Else
Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more
Newegg.com - PYLE PLGI35T 3.5mm Stereo Audio Ground Loop Isolator
Pyle 3.5MM / 1/8'' Stereo Audio Ground Loop Isolator - PLGI35T - RitzCamera.com
3.5mm Extension Stereo Audio Isolation Transformer - Cables To Go

Lol... yeah i am betting the cheapo cassette to 3.5mm isn't helping the issue ..

I am not worried as i only notice it with the phone quiet...

But thanks for the info...

Sure, interference can ride in on any wires and could be using the cassette adapter wires as an antenna pulling in the interference.
