4G/3G switch-off issues solved?

I returned my Razr on Jan. 15 because the 4g data issues were so annoying. The device would lose all data connectivity and require a reboot. I'm wondering if the recent OTA updates have solved this problem, or has Verizon been able to overcome it? I.e., is it safe to go back for a Maxx, or do I continue to wait?

As you might be able to tell from the absence of threads discussing a data loss issue, the most recent update seems to have greatly reduce or eliminated (for most users) that problem.
