3g 1x ?

So here's the situation. I have a T-Bolt and my co-worker has a D3. While we are at work there are areas with spotty 3G coverage. So when that happens my T-bolt will switch to 1X and her D3 will switch momentarily then it will lose dat all together. I had a D1 before my bolt and never had a problem with it switching between 1X and 3G. I played with all her network and data options, but nothing will keep the 1X up and going.

Any ideas?
