I see the game they're playing. It's obviously ONLY the battery life game.

Even the new Pebble has a color screen and the battery lasts about a week, according to their claims.

This thing doesn't even have a touch screen...So...can you even dismiss notifications directly on the watch? I didn't catch that part if they showed it in the video.

Looks more like a glorified digital watch than a smart watch imo, though the line is fairly gray between the two...

;)

Just my 2 cents, but I am not getting the price tag. I mean it's another really nice looking watch. But it seems to lack a few key "smart watch" features. No touchscreen (three buttons on the side) and he never mentioned a mic to speak into for voice commands. IMO opinion, 30 day battery is not a big deal. It's not that difficult to charge my watch every night or every other night while my phone is charging.

Agree on all three commentaries. Just got hooked by the headline and thought it might spark some discussion.

It has been weighed, it has been measured, and it has been found to be lacking.

Yes, in all that matters as a smart phone except one... Battery life! Lol

I still don't get the whole battery life debate. One of the first things people say, who of course don't have one: "I don't want another thing to charge!!!"
I mean, come on... people don't sleep with watches on. Most people don't. I take my watch off every night and set it on the table just like every "normal" watch wearer. The only difference is I have a nice little cradle to set it on. I don't have to "remember" to charge it.

As long as the battery lasts all day, I'm ok with nightly charging.

Most of us with the G Watch are getting away with charging every other day and still getting a FULL day's use out of it, so I have to totally agree with Pere. I've never worn a watch to bed either. I set it on my night stand on the nights I don't charge it. On the nights that I do charge it, I set in on my night stand in the cradle. Only real difference between that and my "analog" watch is that I put the G Watch into theater mode so I don't have to worry about one more thing casting a little bit of light while I try to sleep and/or one more thing vibrating to notify me of things I don't care about at bedtime.
