2 questions about text messages

Ok first of all is there anyway to stop sending a message that you hit send on? i cant find it to save my life.

and number 2 why is that Verizon won't take a long text message and send it as 2 but even crappy at&t will do that i dont understand why it will only send the first 160 charaters in the text why cant they just break it in half and send 2 ughh this annoys me verizon has always been this way on texts.

the Handcent app which can replace the built in messaging app has a lot more features and customization including a setting to automatically split messages that are longer than 160 (just for us Verizon customers)

nevermind i downloaded it and it is an amazing app i love it from the first 5 mins of playing with it. thanks.
