2.2 Update not an option??

I keep reading about the 2.2 update.....I have a stock phone with 2.1 on it and when I click for updates .....it says no updates available??? What am I missing?

You aren't missing anything. Its being rolled out, meaning only a percentage of users get it daily. Everybody is supposed to have the update by August 18th, but I don't see that happening.

According to one poster, a VZW rep went on record as saying that timeline has been canned.

The rollout is random, unstructured, seemingly uncoordinated, and your mileage may vary. Your best bet if you're tired of waiting is to do a manual install. If you're interested you can look for the circus thread (in the News section), or ask and I'll provide links.

It is COMPLETELY RANDOM. If you bought 2 Droids at the same time, one might get the update days before the other. When the first update in December came out, someone made a Google map where you could "stick a pin" on where and when you got the update. No rhyme or reason.
