1message received multiple times

I got froyo rooted. Bootstraped.. rommanager..
I downloaded via rom manager galagray rom. It installed and everythings good.. except.. I receive txt messages multiple times. 2 as txt and 2 on messenger. I tried to do setting.. applications.. manage applications.. clear data.. but it still happens... ideas.?

If you look in your launcher, im gonna guess you will see an app called text messaging, and messaging.... if you do you will need to go into root explorer and set it for mount r/w and rename text messaging apk to textmessaging.bak and that will fix it.

I did not find a text messaging.. I found messaging.apk, messaging.odex or something. And messageswidget and messageswidget.odex

Are you using a different SMS/MMS app like Handcent instead of the stock messaging?

If so... you need to disable the stock messaging notifications and the auto-retrieve setting.

I did not install anything like that unless it came with the rom. I will check. Right now though.. I have to get my self to work.
