I don't believe that's correct. The 8 gig user useable part of the internal storage is not partitioned. I could be wrong, but am pretty sure it isn't.
I think I finally see where the misunderstanding is. You are thinking that I'm saying that the 8GB "user area" (actually called the media area) is somehow split 4G/4G. That's not what I'm saying.
It's the 8GB NON-user area that is split: 4GB for Android system files and 4GB for apps. So, once again, the 16GB onboard storage is formatted:
4GB system files (not user accessible)
4GB app storage (not accessible for any other files)
8GB media area (open storage for any purpose)
