When not using swipe have to minimize keyboard to go back

Is there a way to use a mixed swipe mixed hot key buttons

On moto z2 I used swipe to swipe back from any screen

In Samsung with no physical home button I found it harder to use google swipe gestures to go Bayard (involving swipes from edge of screen instead of on the home button)

This makes it so I have to minimize keyboard to then get the backwards button to show

Anyway to always make the backwards button show as well as a way to minimize keyboard

Ideally it would be nice to enable some swipe actions and not others mix and match

I up voted it (6 replies but from April and replies are locked and some guy said email some dev team the they don't check that forum much lol)

Google doesn't respond. But if it's been reported enough they do read it, and it becomes a numbered bug / issue. But they don't respond there.
