What does the Red Light on Motorola Droid Mean

This happened to me earlier today. My phone was charging all day, and was fully charged at one point, but then randomly started displaying the red light and was back to low battery. I unplugged and replugged, and the light went away. Very weird.

The only time I get a constant red light is when my battery is low or I have flashed a theme or a kernel to a rom that is not compatible with theme or rom, either got to do a restore or flash different theme or kernel to rom, also do you have no battery no matter how long you charge it, that would be incompatible kernel, for overclocking, hope this Bella
