VPN Access, Then What?

I know this may be a stupid question, but after I vpn into my work network, what can I do with the Droid X?

I searched for other threads on this topic and couldn't find anything.

I was looking to grab files from the network, and possibly remote desktop. Any suggestions on apps for those?
