Voicemail Notification Wont Clear

Now I know there are probably many threads like this already, from what Ive just stumbled upon on google searching for an answer but Id just rather have my own thread with a clear and simple solution instead of having to sift thrrough a bunch of blah blah....heres my problem.


Rooted Droid :motdroidvert: running Froyo. Ive had this problem before but its always went away within minutes but this time it hasn't. I got a voice-mail earlier this morning and after listening, deleting and exiting my voice mail the icon still remains.

-There is no CLEAR tab in the pull-down bar
-Ive tried leaving myself voice mails then deleting
-In an attempt to fix I signed up for Google Voice (didn't work)
-Deactivated Google Voice and went back to VZ Voicemail
-Restarted Phone

Anyone know anything that will work? That little icon is ruining my day! dancedroid

try booting into recovery and wiping data and cache. make a backup first

Sorry I should've stated I really do not want to factory reset. Is there another way of doing this?

I am having the same issue. Droid X with Froyo. I run the factory install.

Did you wait for the new message's notification before deleting?

That won't have any effect because GV uses a completely different method of getting VM notifications to your device.
