Earlier in the week we reported that new customers who were trying to activate a brand new Moto X Pure Edition on Verizon's network were unable to do so, and were "out of luck," until Verizon issued a fix. Verizon claimed they would have the fix knocked out by September 18th, which is today. Luckily, they were able to follow through on their promise.

Verizon has confirmed that new customers activating a new Moto X Pure Edition (purchased elsewhere) are now able to finish the activation process just fine. It turns out the speculation was correct, Verizon simply didn’t have the device IMEI numbers added to their database. To get the process finalized on your device, you can head over to a Verizon store and they will get you fixed up. Alternatively, you can head to their website and handle the process manually yourself if you feel up to it: Verizon.
